Poor Little Dog!!!

I thought since my last post was dog-related, I would share this...

Buppy(Buffy---her real name), my mom's dog, just loved this experience!! It is a good thing she is patient with him. She is always happy for us to come visit. And she is always happy for us to leave! Christmas lasted a long time for her this year. We were there with her and my parents over a week. Can you tell we had a blast???

Kobie got TAGGED

Calie and Faith tagged Kobie. So here he goes.

Here are the rules:
1. Link to the person that tagged you.
2. Post the rules on your blog.
3. Share six non-important things/habits/quirks about yourself.
4. Tag six random people at the end of your post by linking to their blogs.
5. Let each random person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their website.

Kobie says:

"I am told that I am a VERY quirky dog. And just this morning, my mama told me that I better be glad she loves me, because otherwise I would be at the pound. I am not sure what that means, but hey, I am glad she loves me!!!

1. I LOVE to bark. I bark at everything. I bark when I play. I bark when I hear something outside, or even when I THINK I hear something outside. I bark at people coming and going. I bark at other dogs. I bark when I want inside. Sometimes I bark when I want outside. I bark. That is what I do.

2. I also like to sing. Yes, I can sing. Especially with the piano. EVERY time I hear the piano play, I howl along. My family seems to enjoy it...so I have continued to entertain them with this habit of mine for years.

3. I also really enjoy marking my territory. Especially at Nana and PapaBob's house. You know, they have this really CUTE little dog that looks just like me except SHE is smaller and some even say cuter. (don't believe that part) But, I am the BOSS around these parts, and I want her to know it, so I go and mark my territory every chance I get!! (I am pretty sure that is why my mama said I better be glad she loves me!! --- I am a bad dog is what Nana said --- thankfully, she loves me too!!!!)

4. I really like to chew on my feet. I do it a lot. I think I heard my mom say I have allergies. But, I also think I heard the dr. say I am an anxious dog. I am not sure what that means either. I do know that it really makes me sad when I am left alone or when I can't find my mama.

5. I am a pretty good seeker in that game, hide-n-seek. I am a champ at finding my mama. And those little boys that live at my house seem to enjoy playing that game with me. Don't tell them that I am not looking for them. It is my mama that I want to find!!

6. I get car-sick. Not literally...but I only like to ride for long rides lying very still. I don't even sleep because I have to make sure I am sitting still!! And some of the rides our family go on are very long. So I sit between two car seats on a nice comfy blanket and don't move except when I hear the blinky sound from the turn-signal. Or I begin to move around when I think we are getting close to our destination. I also have to look out the window, or prefer to hang out of the window, when we are on those curvy roads on the way to the mountains.

See I am just a little quirky. And believe me, this is all of them---don't believe my mom when she says that it isn't all of my quirks!!! She should just be thankful for the 11 and half years she has gotten to spend with me so far!!"

Oh my...MASTITIS

Three precious children. Three nursed children. And this is my very FIRST experience with mastitis! UGH! It is the worst!!

But, boy, isn't she worth it??? Aren't they all?

We mothers sure do go through a lot---and so much of it goes unnoticed, and without thanks.

So, if you are a mommy that has had it---I will say it from my heart to yours.

Thanks mommy for your sacrifice!!

Christmas Tour of Homes

Okay, so I am going to join in on the fun. I, like most, really enjoy decorating for CHRISTmas.

What a privilege to create an atmosphere that reflects a CELEBRATION! And what a bigger privilege to celebrate JESUS!!

For the outside of the house, we have some wreaths on our windows and one on the door. As well as garland around the door that has lights in it. I also have candles in my windows. (sorry no pictures of that)

Our tree is an artificial pre-lit gem!! My dear husband said we wouldn't EVER have an artificial---then we had children!

I have my Willow Tree Nativity on the mantle. And our stockings---with our new 5th stocking this year! Adam says we are full now---no more room for any more children.

These are some of my TREASURED Santas. My mom painted most all of them. I can't put as many out as I would like for fear of some extra-loving by my hard-handed boys! They would love them more than I can afford for them to.

I also have 2 nativity sets for the kids. One is the Little People kind and then we have this one from Playmobil. My sweet daddy made the barn to go with it because it came with some cardboard thing that wasn't good for little boys. This is our first year with this barn and they have had a blast with it!!!

You know, I think I sometimes put more into my decorating that I do my celebrating! Shame on me!!

May we all CELEBRATE the RISEN SAVIOR on the occasion of His birth!!
Happy Birthday JESUS!

There's No Place Like Home

We took a quick trip home over the weekend. To my home town that is. We LIVE in my dear husband's home town.

And we got to go see our little Christmas parade. It was cold! Despite being her first parade, I think I tortured the baby, but we enjoyed being there and seeing some friends. And the boys stacked their pockets full of candy. They, of course, had the most fun...cold or not!!!

It is nice to spend a little time with my parents. I don't really remember a time in my life that I haven't enjoyed their company. I always look forward to our next visit together.

I am pretty sure they are THRILLED to see us come and then THRILLED to see us go!!

A Thanksgiving Full

Our weekend was full. And by that I mean: complete, abundant, happy, satisfied, rewarding.

A full house. Adam's cousin and his family of 6 spent the weekend with us. 4 children 6 and under. So, that is 7 children in our house! But that isn't all of the family in town. We had 25 celebrating Thanksgiving together on Thursday.

A full schedule. From Nate's Thanksgiving program at school on Wednesday morning until church on Sunday...we pretty much had a busy weekend.

A full tummy. Of course, we had lots of yummy food. It is hard to even pick a favorite dish!

A full shopping cart. I DID get to go shopping on Friday---and enjoyed getting a few things for Christmas!

A full thermometer. More than one of the children in my house was under the weather.

A full scoreboard!!! NC State won another football game!!

AND most importantly a list full of BLESSINGS to be thankful for!!!

We had a great weekend with Adam's family. It is always hard for me to be away from my family. But, I do enjoy our Thanksgiving tradition with his family.

Here are some of the kids.
